- Conifer forests in the Interior Northwest are commonly affected by Armillaria root disease, an underground fungal infection that causes pockets of tree death. - The first Panorpa was recently discovered in Thailand even though the genus had not been thought to occur south of the Himalaya. We now add a second new species, Panorpa apscisacera n. sp., also from Northern Thailand, which has nearly immaculate pale-yellow wings with only a pronounced stigma.
