This document describes the standards, codes, methods, and definitions for Forest Inventory and Analysis field data items. The objective is to describe core field procedures that are consistent and uniform across all units.Access older versions of the Nationwide Forest Inventory Field Guide.Access regional versions of the field guide, which may include additional detail on regionally specific protocols not designated as core.

This fact sheet summarized research on tree seedling regeneration after the 2020 Labor Day Fires in Oregon. This document is based on previous documentation of the nationally standardized Forest Inventory and Analysis database (Hansen and others 1992; Woudenberg and Farrenkopf 1995; Miles and others 2001; Woudenberg and others 2010). Documentation of the structure of the Forest Inventory and Analysis database (FIADB) as well as codes and definitions is provided.
