Using Behave7 for Prescribed Fire Planning
This webinar focuses on the Surface & Crown, Surface & Mortality, and Surface & Contain modules in Behave7 for prescribed fire plan development. It is designed for RXB1s, RXB2s, trainees, and anyone who assists with burn plans. Please note that we will not cover the Surface module; if you need that overview, please attend the Introduction to Behave7 webinar.
Behave7 is a complete redesign and overhaul of BehavePlus v6. Behave7 was first released in May 2024 and is still in active development. It is one of the most commonly used fire behavior modeling systems in the U.S. More information and the software may be accessed on the Behave webpage.
This webinar is hosted by the Fire Learning Network (FLN). The FLN is made up of fire practitioners across the United States who are dedicated to building a world where beneficial fire can do its work on the landscape and harmful fire is less common and more effectively managed. The FLN connects these thought leaders to each other, and provides training, education, and funding to help them build the capacity and social capital needed to develop and maintain sustainable fire cultures. Our partnership has a track record of more than two decades of helping to restore our nation’s fire-adapted landscapes and make communities more resilient to fire. Learn more at firenetworks.org/fln.
