The USDA Northern Forests Climate Hub (NFCH) develops and delivers science-based, region-specific information and technologies to help natural resource managers and woodland owners integrate climate change information into planning, decision-making, and management activities in order to sustain the diverse benefits from forests in a changing climate.

Serving 20 states throughout the Midwest and Northeast region of the U.S., the Northern Forests Climate Hub delivers science-based, region-specific technologies and practical information that can assist natural resources managers with climate-informed decision-making. The mission of the Northern Forests Climate Hub aligns with the USDA mission to provide leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues based on sound public policy, the best available science, and efficient management.

The Northern Forests Climate Hub was designed to provide additional forestry-specific expertise to the Midwest and Northeast Climate Hubs, leveraging the Forest Service’s Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science (NIACS) partnership and its resources to meet the complex needs of land managers and woodland owners in the region.
