The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service, Northern Research Station covers a region extending from Maine to Minnesota and from Missouri to Maryland. Northern Research Station science aims to understand all elements of forests and related landscapes, address important natural resource management issues, and provide solutions that inform land management decisions. This work improves the health of the nation’s public and private forests, supports industries ranging from timber to recreation, protects water and air quality, and enhances wildlife habitat.
