- Whitebark pine (WBP) is a federally threatened species that is easily killed by fire but also dependent on fire. - Community wildfire readiness includes homeowner wildfire risk mitigation and wildfire evacuation preparedness. - The escalating wildfire problem in Portugal motivated policymakers to develop a wildfire management plan that calls for rural fuel reduction throughout the country.
