Forest insects and diseases are serious threats and can have devastating impacts on the long-term health and sustainability of forest ecosystems. Insect pests, such as the southern pine beetle, emerald ash borer, gypsy moth, and hemlock woolly adelgid, already have significantly changed our forest landscapes.
