CULVERT

Release Date

CULVERT, the Climate and Upland Loading Vulnerability Evaluation and Risk Analysis Tool, is an integrated scientific software platform developed for comprehensive watershed analysis and hydrologic and hydrogeomorphologic risk assessments. The tool can identify under-sized culverts that may be vulnerable to failure during flooding, and/or due to flood-induced upland and streambank soil erosion. What do you need to get started?
An email address to register account with CULVERT. All datasets are already integrated through data APIs for up to 10 m spatial resolution. Users may bring high resolution (1m) topographic data, culvert data, or stream and rain gauge data.
Outputs
Reports and interactive maps.
Strengths
Fully dynamic with a static web page dedicated to visualizing results of assessments.
Limitations
Can only process drainage area of less than 120,000 hectares and no more than 300 culvert points at a time.
