The Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) in western Wyoming comprises over 3.4 million acres of public land. This rich and diverse landscape borders Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and includes the headwaters of the Green, Snake, and Yellowstone Rivers. Robust and diverse partnerships are necessary to steward this landscape, yet these partnerships are not currently systematically tracked or available as a dataset.

As part of the Lake Tahoe West Restoration Partnership, a science team worked with resource managers to evaluate effects of forest dynamics and management strategies on social and ecological values within a 59,000-acre landscape in the western part of the Lake Tahoe basin in California. This report presents an evaluation of forest road effects following the Phase III forest harvest (2017-2019) within the South Fork of Caspar Creek, Jackson Demonstration State Forest, California. A two-step approach was utilized: (1) road field measurements; and (2) use of the Distributed Hydrology Soil Vegetation Model (DHSVM) to examine road scenarios at the watershed scale. On Thursday, September 17, 2020, Charles ‘Charlie’ Morton was fatally burned while conducting fire suppression actions on the El Dorado Fire on the San Bernardino National Forest. Charlie is survived by his fiancé, daughter, parents, two brothers, cousins, friends, and Big Bear Hotshots.
