Managing the Land
Unprecedented stresses on forest ecosystems, including wildland fire, climate change, land use changes, and changes in how society values natural resources, are complicating the ability of land managers and policymakers to provide sustainable flows of goods and services from forests, rangelands, and watersheds while maintaining biodiversity. Our research helps decisionmakers assess tradeoffs associated with land management activities to improve and restore landscapes from the effects of disturbance.
