2011 Texas Tanglewood Fire

The post-fire assessment of the 2011 Texas Tanglewood Fire was a unique collaboration between state and federal agencies to assess the wildland urban interface that included researchers from the Pacific Northwest Research Station and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The quantity and quality of the data collected by NIST and Texas A&M Forest Service staff highlighted the value of rigorous data collection in the WUI and the post-fire assessment provided new insights into the WUI fire concerns.
