Primary Features

Basin Creek proposed Research Natural Area (pRNA) was selected to represent a low elevation Idaho fescue (Festuca idahoensis) ecosystem. The pRNA includes a complex series of ridges and dry draws south and above the Imnaha River. The Idaho fescue-prairie junegrass (Koeleria macrantha) plant association is prominently on the Haun Slide where domestic livestock has minor use over the area. The bluebunch wheatgrass (Pseudoroegneria spicata) -Sandberg bluegrass (Poa secunda)–Snake River phlox (Phlox colubrina) plant association is also common throughout the pRNA.
