- The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the importance of recreation as people flocked outdoors for socially distant activities. - Quantifying evapotranspiration (ET) is critical to accurately predict vegetation health, groundwater recharge, and streamflow generation. - Tree establishment following severe or stand-replacing disturbance is critical for achieving U.S. climate change mitigation goals and for maintaining the co-benefits of intact forest ecosystems.
