- Biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) is the main natural source of new nitrogen inputs in terrestrial ecosystems, supporting terrestrial productivity, carbon uptake, and other Earth system processes. - Correlative species distribution models (SDMs) are essential tools in conservation biology, global change assessment and reserve prioritization, linking species occurrences with environmental conditions.
