- Quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides) is a valued, minor component on northeastern California landscapes. - Warming‐induced mountain pine beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae; MPB) outbreaks have caused extensive mortality of whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis; WBP) throughout the species’ range.
