- Limited financial resources coupled with competing social demands may require novel approaches for biodiversity conservation. - Freshwater migratory shrimp in Puerto Rico depend on watershed connectivity, from stream headwaters to the ocean, to complete their life cycle. - Transpiration in humid tropical forests modulates the global water cycle and is a key driver of climate regulation.
